I totally agree with you, man. People in America have gotten away from what the church was originally suppose to be. Being that I am back in the United States now, I'm dumbfounded as to how sitting a church with all the seats facing the same way, nobody talking with one another, people hanging out for no more than an hour at a time, and then like you had told me, they call themselves a family. It's no wonder that so many people in American churches are isolated, depressed and maybe even oppressed and the feeling of being inferior when it comes to their thoughts and what they're going through. Big in this situation doesn't mean better necessarily.

However, despite it's flaws, we must learn to love it despite it's imperfection and love it into what would like for it to be and maybe even what God wants it to be if we have the Godly courage and strength that He wants for all of us. We must love the church, but also lovingly confront it's flaws. Good post!

Ernest,

Once again, thinking like a missionary brings a new perspective in what is meant by "missional." Could be the term may die the death of "emerging" as it can mean whatever the writer intends it to mean. Always grateful for your insights.
