Jill,
It's the thought behind the last line of your comment that really affects me. I know for certain that the vast majority of people who support me would not approve of my "evolution." They wouldn't even approve of my use of the word "evolution!"

Nevertheless, being on the field has changed me, and I feel the obligation to make that information available to, well, anyone who can be bothered to read my blog.

Thanks to everyone for your supportive comments.

I really like what you say here. Maybe it's because I see myself in what you wrote, and I never would have been able to express it as well. We've been in Quebec for 7 years (as missionaries). I came here thinking I would change the world. Instead, I've been changed. I don't know if our supporters would necessarily think this is a good thing, but I'm not afraid to say it anymore.

Isn't it amazing what a few years can do? We're about to hit 16 months and wow...the changes. I'm finally at a place where I'd rather let man down than God. I realize more each day how much bigger and smarter God is than me. I also realize that I can't change people, and I'm not called to. I'm called to be me, be obedient, honorthe King and fight for the Kingdom.

As fellow evolver, this is why I like reading your stuff.

I had an odd experience this week, odd in the fact that I found myself feeling very happy and peaceful. I reflected on the reason, and determined that since I don't have to judge people and situations nearly as much now, I am free to enjoy beauty for what it is, instead of trying to anchor myself against the pull of that damn slippery slope.

Thank you for your kind reply, yesterday. It is quite wonderfully obvious that God is working mightily in your life.

I am seeing a lot of the same changes and it is very apparent that this power of God working in my life is needed. Not only this, but I suspect that neither of us would rather be any other place then where God has us now: growing.

Thanks for sharing about your evolution. It's an encouragement to me, as I try to examine my own evolution over the last two years.

I think this is an excellent sum up. Amazing how we can chage so much from these experiences, but feel even more like who we really are in the end.
